BMW Infuses Vehicles with Greater Prescience

Why is BMW among the most popular in its class? Because, regardless of whether it takes the form of a convertible (i.e., 640i), coupe (i.e., 128i), sedan (i.e., 550i) or SAV (X5 xDrive35i), BMW is the best looking and the smartest. With svelte bodies built on a core foundation of intelligent driving strengthened via sensors aimed at helping drivers plan ahead - it's impossible not to "Like" (www.facebook.com/BMW) BMW .
Another charismatic trait of BMW, besides its finely sculpted bodies and high IQ, is its ability to identify areas in which the company might improve, and then actually follow through. Case in point: The aforementioned sensors. While their predictive capabilities have significantly advanced driver safety, comfort and efficiency over the past few years; they're also limited to very short distances and relevant only for small periods of time.
In recognizing this short-coming, BMW is now taking steps to advance the technology, in terms of both breadth and depth. The new system called "Car-to-X" takes BMW's current plan-ahead technologies (i.e., BMW Head-Up Display) about a thousand steps forward from where it is today... In the unfortunate event of an accident, "Car-to-X" will allow networked BMW vehicles to warn other connected BMW vehicles (approaching from either ahead or behind) about any potential hazards, giving them more reaction time than was ever thought possible.
Of course, that's just one potential use of the forthcoming BMW "Car-to-X" system. It might also serve to connect BMW vehicles and traffic lights. The goal is to network light's timing so that drivers can adapt their driving and ultimately realize improved efficiency.
